IT’S OVER! And it seems it just started. School Year 2012-2013 is in the books. As with every year there are some memorable moments-some you wish you could forget and many you will always remember. That’s the nature of the business. It’s definitely savoring the good and letting go of the bad, and realizing that it takes both for kids to learn and school to continue.
I hope for each of you a restful summer. The idea that you don’t work in the summer is one of the biggest myths of education and teaching. I know that all of you will be hard at work getting ready for next year. But in the process of getting better prepared don’t forget to take some time to rest and recharge your own emotional, physical and spiritual batteries.
I think the following quote from Vincent Van Gogh describes the employees of MPISD. "Your profession is not what brings home your paycheck. Yourprofession is what you were put on earth to do with such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling." It is an honor and a privilege to work with true professionals.
The doors of success for students are opened at graduation. Our seniors are excited about walking across the stage and into their futures. Our kindergarten students are excited about entering First Grade. And at each grade level students are ready for the next grade. My prayer continues to be that we are continually opening the door of not only the possible but also the impossible to everyone we touch.
