MPHS Awards Texas Scholars

236 Students Honored

    Mount Pleasant ISD presented Texas Scholar medals and certificates to 236 graduating seniors at a special luncheon Wednesday. The awards presentation was attended by parents and relatives of the students.
    To qualify as a Texas Scholars students had to have taken the classes necessary to receive a Recommended or Distinguished diploma and must have passed all four required TAKS tests.

In addressing the gathering, Superintendent Terry Myers complimented the students on having chosen to take a more difficult path through high school. He told them that they had prepared for their futures whatever road they chose to take - community college, technical school, college or the work force. He also commended the parents for the support they had provided the students through their 12 years of education.
