Mr. Gilbert Turrieta, this year’s President of the Star of Texas organization, purchased his work of horses in a pasture at the auction for $600.
“I am extremely proud of Alejandro for this,” said his MPHS art teacher Jerry Boyd. “The piece of artwork that won 1st place at the fair only brought in $650 at auction. And to have the president of the organization buy Alejandro’s work speaks to his artistic talent. Alejandro will be adding this $600 scholarship to others he was won to attend NTCC in the fall.”
