MPISD Receives Grant for Non-Skid Shoes

“Safety in our kitchens is of utmost importance, for workers first, and for the district, second,” said MPISD Food Service Director Laura Stewart. “Anyone who’s ever been in a commercial kitchen knows that the floors can get slippery at times. This grant, and the shoes we have been able to purchase through it, will help us keep our workers safe and keep the number of accidents in out kitchens to a minimum.”

The district’s “cafeteria ladies” were thrilled with the shoes, according to Judi Saxton, district public information officer. “Good, safe, comfortable work shoes are not inexpensive. We as a district were pleased to receive this grant and to use it to provide good work shoes for a very important part of our workforce.”
